Executive Officers

Danielle M. White, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, received a B.S. degree in Public Relations Communications and Business Management Leadership from Utah Valley State College in April 2004, where she graduated with academic and Service-Learning honors. While at UVSC, Danielle served as News Editor for the college paper, was a member of the ASUVSC (student government) Service Committee, and served as President of the Campus Cancer Club. Additionally, she was awarded the prestigious “Student of the Year Award for Outstanding Leadership, the “Miss UVSC Service Award,” and an “Achievement of the Year Award.” These days, when Danielle isn’t busy running the Cancer Crusaders Organization, she is working for H&R Block. Furthermore, she is affiliated with various organizations such as the Utah Cancer Action Network (where she is a certified cancer-health educator), the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Consumer Patient Advocacy Group with the Utah Cancer Action Network, and the National Coalition for Sun Safety (with the American Academy of Dermatology). Danielle has future plans to start-up her own PR Consulting Firm especially for 501 [c] [3] corporations and to pursue a Masters in Organizational Communications and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Utah. John M. Eagleston , serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Cancer Crusaders Organization. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona but was raised in Sandy, Utah. John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science and Business Management from Utah Valley State College in April 2004. While at UVSC he served as the president of the Student Alumni Association and as the Executive Board Chair for Student Advancement Programs. Additionally, John was a finalist for the “Wolverine School Spirit Award” and the “Man of the Year Award” during his glory days at UVSC. Though, John has graduated from UVSC he remains a loyal to his alma mater by working as the Advertising & Sales Manager for the schools alumni magazine—THE SEQUEL. He also works for Nordstsrom and is the co-founder of Nerak Enterprises. In his spare time, John enjoys playing soccer, water sports, spending time with his new wife Nicole. Cancer Emphases: Skin. Managerial Officers

Mike Jones , like his fellow cancer crusader, John Eagleston, originally hails from Phoenix, Arizona. Mike serves as a Special Projects Coordinator where he is currently working on translating our cancer information into Spanish and helping with the “Only Skin Deep?” Campaign. Mike received a Bachelors degree in both Spanish and Biology from Brigham Young University in 2004 and plans on pursing a MBA. Margaret Merrill is the Program Director Education for the Cancer Crusaders Organization, originally hails from New York. She is currently working toward obtaining a Masters in Instructional Design at Brigham Young University, where she also works as an assistant instructor for French and Italian. In her spare time, when she isn’t serving valiantly in her many religious and leadership capacities, Margaret is an assistant coach for the Orem High School Girl’s Volleyball Team and an avid international film guru. Jessie Bushman of Payson, Utah, also serves as a Special Projects Coordinator where she is currently working on our Conversations with Cancer literary anthology. Jessie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Utah Valley State College in 2004 and is currently preparing for Graduate work. While at UVSC, Jessie won the “Poet of the Year 2004” award, and served as part of the editorial board for Touchstones. Janell Armstrong, originally from Pennsylvania has traveled extensively throughout her lifetime and is currently working toward obtaining a Masters in IT/Computer Information Systems at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Janell serves as the Technical Director for the Cancer Crusaders Organization.

 

 

Sandra Huang is our Co-Technical Director (Intern) from Taiwan and majoring in IT at Utah Valley State College in Orem, Utah. Sandra has extensive experience working as a manager of various companies throughout the globe, and hopes to bring her wealth of knowledge coupled with her zeal for service towards ensuring the Cancer Crusaders Organization is successful. She says, “Being apart of the Cancer Crusaders makes me feel like I am really making a difference for other people. I really believe in what it stands for, am excited to help promote the national Skin Cancer Awareness ribbon, and serve those who are affected by cancer.
